Welcome to St. Andrews School, Marredpally

Set in the bustling urban neighbourhoods of Marredpally, the school moved into the second campus in 1996. Currently housing classes till VIth, the school’s expansion plans are on track to accommodate classes till X, under the aegis of Central Board of Secondary Education.

On par with the St. Andrews School standards, the campus is rich in academic and skill development opportunities for the students to develop and reinvent themselves. Immersed in the culturally diverse, spirited and academically driven environment, the teachers, parents and students work together towards shaping a better world.

Ms. Richardine de Souza

A new chapter unfolds in this enriching journey of life.

After two decades spent at St. Andrews Bowenpally, first as a teacher and then as a Vice Principal, new avenues are being opened up as I take on the position of Principal at St. Andrews Marredpally – which is now growing into a middle school and later into a secondary school.

What makes St. Andrews such a wonderful school to associate with is the fact that it is a school of constant happening – every academic year, something new is planned to expand ways of thinking and engaging. A true sense of work prevails in this community, and it constantly enriches the process of education.

My vision for St. Andrews Marredpally as it goes forward is to empower students in acquiring the value education and skills that will help them throughout their lives. In this regard, the ability to be tolerant and appreciate another person’s point of view, even if this view may not match one’s own, and to accept that every student is unique and special in their own way is paramount, and this is an ethic that we at St. Andrews actively foster.

In addition, special focus is placed on working with a team/family to ensure that a person can fulfill their responsibilities without feeling too much pressure; such a safe environment is where one feels committed to being creative and caring.

It has been rightly said: education is a shared commitment between teachers, students and parents. It is my hope that this spirit of collaboration and open-mindedness will make for exciting opportunities and fulfilling future for the St. Andrews, Marredpally community.

The morning assembly marks the beginning of the day with the delivery of a crisp and clear message. Throughout the day the energy in school is palpable, classrooms energised with learning activities, the smart turnout of the drill class, the lively melodies ringing out from the music room, the silence of the library, the magic of our computer wizards – St. Andrews is an embodiment of a wholesome school experience. From counselling to intensive sports programme to the specially designed programmes for students with learning difficulties, we cater to the needs of each one of our students.

An ideal combination of learning and fun can be found in the club and co-curricular activities and in the high-spirited inter-house competitions. Classroom learning using the thought-provoking methods capture the minds of students. Sharing lunches, accompanying a sick classmate to the infirmary and reaching out to someone in need, There’s never a boring moment at St. Andrews. House System

Students of St. Andrews belong to one of four Houses and remain in that House until they leave school. This system promotes participation in all capacities of school life. Houses compete against each other for points in tournaments, activities and competitions that are organised throughout the year. The House System is deeply entrenched and occupies a prominent place in the school life of the students. Traditionally, students are placed in the same house as their siblings.
