The National Cadet
Corps aims to
- Develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular
outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service among
the youth, to make them useful citizens.
- Create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership
in all walks of life including the Armed Forces and be available always for the
service of the Nation.
NCC was introduced into the curriculum of St. Andrews during the session 2003-2004
under 4(A) BN., NCC, Secunderabad Group Head Quarter Troop No. 81, Army Wing. In
the beginning, 100 boys were enrolled from the classes VIII and IX only. Now even
girls have started taking active role in this program.

Training Areas
The cadets are taught military subjects, management and leadership. These include:

- Physical conditioning.
- Foot drill and drill with arms.
- Weapon training and firing.
- Map reading.
- First aid and civil defence.
- Lectures on relevant and important topics.
- Punctuality and obedience of orders.
- Assignment of important camp duties.

Our cadets have been doing extremely well in the NCC camps, be it state or national
level, Annual Training Camp or National Integration Camp. They have won prizes in
varied events like March Past, Tug-of-War, Best Cadet, etc.
